"Printer not connected" error

My Cetus Mk1 is no longer seen by my laptop. Worked a couple of days ago, but now does not.

Same problem with an old version of Cetus SW and with latest UPStudio (just installed today).

The SN is displayed on the screen in UPStudio, but not on the legacy Cetus SW.

Same cable as before and connected directly to a USP port (no hub).

Running WIn 10 Pro /64 and UP Studio 2.6.20.627

I need to print, any suggestions?

You may try the CPU rescue method, search CPU rescue in help center, you need to download a utility program to reset the CPU.

Thanks for the response Jason. The utility does not see the printer (it opens and displays No Printer in the upper left corner) and a [Get System Info] request fails with the response:

Can’t get system info from printer! Please check USB connection.

I’ve changed the cable to no effect. Note that when I connect the printer, windows chimes to indicate that a connection was made to something, so it appears likely that both cables are fine.

Suggestions?

sometimes windows update will destroy TT printer driver, have tried uninstall and reinstall UP Studio?

Hi Jason,

I can’t reinstall.

I get the message:

UP Studio Setup was Interrupted
UP Studio setup ended prematurely because of an error…

I’m admin on this machine, and I tried both a normal install, and one where I deliberately ran the installation “as administrator”. Both attempts failed in the same manner.

Hi Jason,

I had forgotten that the SW isn’t signed, and I had to enable my system to installed unsigned drivers. I now have it working, thank you.

BTW, after all this time, why aren’t the drivers signed?

The latest version should be signed, I am not sure why this happened.

The printer error is also happening with me as well as the thing is that most of the user in their printer is having connection issue and it has to be fixed. I am right now going through Epson printer error code e-01 and I want the solution to fix this.

I’m not sure what an Epson printer error has to do wih the Cetus. Are you having problems with multiple printers?

I too am having printer connections issues after upgrading software for earlier version. I have an UP PLUS 2. My son clean installed the latest software version on his surface pro and it all seems to work fine, but my laptop won’t connect. I read Jason’s comment about uninstalling UP Studio and then reinstalling it… giving that a try. I hope that works.

It worked… Thanks Jason.
