Extruder Stepper Drive Shaft

<p>I’m working on a model to use BondTech Drive Gears to replace the current filament feed system. I’m not home so I can’t measure the extruder motor drive shaft. Could someone please give me the diameter of the shaft and distance it protrudes from the motor?</p><p> </p><p>Thanks! </p>

<p>Heres a quick model if I can get 20mm from the output shaft of the extruder servo. An extra $50 to pretty much eliminate all feeding problems. Worth it!</p><p> </p><p></p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>Super excited for this upgrade. WELL worth the money. Right away I can feel\see the difference. It’s still in prototype phase so I don’t plan to release any models just get, but for those interested you should go ahead and get those bondtech extruder gears now :D</p><p> </p><p>http://shop.bondtech.se/en/drivegears/drivegear-kit-175-direct.html</p><p> </p><p></p>

it looks nice.

i’m also interested in modifying the extruder, as the metal gear is showing a lot of wear - the teeth are chipped / the edges are rolling over and now i need to overheat the PLA to get reliable operation ( cleaned nozzle, etc )

it looks like the AL they used is too soft and having to exchange the entire set-up for 1 wore down part is a “little” expensive.

please keep us up to date

Any news on the Bondtech mod? Trying to print with eSUN PLA+ is driving me crazy with the inconsistent feed issues!
