Extruder ground wire mod

Today I connected the extruder to a ground wire as recommened by Tiertime.

Before connecting the wire I measured the continuity / resistance between the extruder (screw) and the motherboard screw(s) and it showed continiuty.

So there exists a ground connection without the additional wire and my question is: Is this connection fading (maybe because of axis movement) or what is the reason for the additional wire, higher wire thickness?

Hello,

As the static charge always choose the easier way and voltage could be very high during discharge, so the ground need not only conductive but also able to channel alot of charges in a short time, otherwise the statics will still go through other paths which could casue damage.

Thanks Jason, got it.
